SNEAK PEAK
Posted by Nicole at 12:29 pm on 30 January 2017
This is a top secret sneak peak into this week’s family room design that has been such a joy to work on. I love this project because it is full of challenges that have required lots of time with my creative thinking cap on. The angled walls that create oddly shaped spaces add a layer of complexity to this project. However, the biggest challenge of this project was effectively incorporating the three different functions that were required to be a part of the space. Not only does this space function as the main hub for binge watching Netflix, it also functions as a mudroom and a wet bar that is used to entertain extended family when they come to visit. Every square inch of this interior is being utilized to create the ultimate multi-

AROUND THE WORLD INSPIRATION
Posted by Nicole at 4:29 pm on 17 February 2017
This last August, my husband and I spent a month exploring all Ireland has to offer. We started our adventure in Dublin and made one big loop around the entire country Visiting different parts of the world is the ultimate way to gather design inspiration. It is fascinating to see the different design styles around the world. The majority of the homes in Ireland were quaint and looked as if they came straight out of a fairytale. A lot of homes we visited had the following features: thatched roofs, natural materials (stone, wood, etc), wood burning stove, neutral colored interiors, sheepskin rugs, and an abundance of natural light. I have always been drawn to design that incorporates a bit of history from around the world. Ireland is one of those countries where you feel like you travelled back in time. With ruins, castles, and gorgeous landscapes everywhere you turn, there is no shortage of inspiration. I wanted to share some of my favorite images from Ireland so you can all be inspired too!

MODEL HOME TOUR
Posted by Nicole at 5:48 pm on 27 February 2017
I love to start the week off with a full dose of design inspiration. One of my favorite sources for interior design inspiration is taking a tour of models homes whenever I am out and about and have some time to spare. It is one thing to see images of gorgeous interiors on Pinterest; however it is a completely different sensation to experience the spaces in person! Over the weekend, I ventured out to visit two model homes at Canyon Creek (managed by Polygon Northwest)in Federal Way. The main living spaces (kitchen, dining room, and living room) flowed seamlessly due to the open concept design. Between this open concept and the 12' ceilings, they had me sold! I was really impressed with the staging in both model homes. It was successful in making the spaces come to life and really was the icing on the cake!
